Service Description

Prague is a unique city where architecture has been shaped for centuries, where many architectural styles have been processed, and where every stone has a story. The Prague with Architectural Periods Tour allows you to experience the different architectural periods of the city together, offering a journey from the depths of history to modern times. We start our architectural tour at Prague Castle, which hosts many architectural styles from the first examples of architecture in Prague to the 19th century. We tour the magnificent structures of the castle from the outside, and discover structures with Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance influences. We continue our tour, which begins at Prague Castle, the starting point of the architectural transformations the city has gone through throughout history, with Mala Strana, or "Small Neighborhood". After visiting some important architectural works in the Small Neighborhood, which does not contain any modern structures, we proceed towards the Charles Bridge, adorned with Baroque statues on Gothic arches. As we cross the bridge, we discover the stories of some statues and the place of the Vltava River in Prague's history, accompanied by the view of the Vltava River. After crossing the bridge, we come across the Národní Divadlo (National Theatre), one of the important symbols of Czech culture, and the New Stage (Nová Scéna), which has a modernist design. These two structures, ranging from Neo-Renaissance to modernism, reveal the architectural diversity of Prague. Then, we reach the Dancing Building (Tančící Dům), a bold example of modern architecture. This structure, jointly designed by Frank Gehry and Vlado Milunić, is a masterpiece that challenges modernism with its sinuous forms and unconventional aesthetics. Here, we discover the construction process of the building and its role in Prague's modern architectural understanding. The last stop of our tour is the St. Cyril and Methodius Church, a symbol of resistance and courage. This structure, which hosted Czech resistance fighters during the Nazi occupation, stands like a monument with the dark pages of history etched into its stone walls. While dedicating a step into Prague's architectural past, we also have the chance to learn about architectural styles. Let's discover together Prague's past carved into stones and its story extending to modernism.
